Choosing a baby name is no small task - it's a decision that lasts a lifetime . One woman recently sought advice on Reddit regarding her younger sister Shaelyn's unusual choice of name for her unborn child.

Selecting a unique baby name can be challenging, with many parents wanting to avoid common names like Olivia or Liam.

The Reddit user revealed that her sister Shaelyn has always dreamed of motherhood. She said she is excited to become an aunt too. Initially, Shaelyn chose to keep the baby's name a secret, but she recently disclosed it to the family

Shaelyn has chosen to name her daughter Araya Sunshine Heavenly Olivia. The woman explained that Araya Sunshine will be the girl's first name , while Heavenly Olivia will serve as her two middle names, reports the Express US .

"At first I thought she was joking, and she informed me that she was being completely serious, and that the two of them have had their hearts set on this name ever since they found out they were having a girl."

"I told her that she could name her baby whatever she wanted, but she should consider that she's not just naming a baby, she's naming a human being that will eventually become an adult, and that I think the name would be quite a weird name for an adult to have."

Shaelyn took offense to her sister's comments and retaliated by criticizing the names of the Reddit user's daughters, Lillian and Madeline, calling them "basic, boring, grandma names ."

"I fear that if my sister proceeds to name her baby the name they have picked out, then the poor kid's gonna get bullied at least 10x worse than I did in school."

Commenters agreed with her that the sister is setting her child up for bullying. One wrote: "This poor kid is going to be bullied for having a name like that. Not to mention the difficulty finding a job when your application has 'Araya Sunshine Heavenly Olivia' on it."

"Should someone be bullied/ have limited job opportunities because of their name? Absolutely not. But research has shown on multiple occasions that kids are bullied because of their unique names and employers do view unique names negatively."
