Frasier Revival Bringing Back Two More Original Series Vets in Season 2

Is Frasier getting the entire KACL gang back together?

<em>Frasier</em> Enlists Patricia Heaton for Season 2 Arc

Paramount+ has announced that original series vets Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert (who played Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe and Gil Chesterton, respectively) will reprise their roles in Season 2 of the sitcom revival.

“Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert have made an indelible contribution to television,” series star/executive producer Kelsey Grammer said in a statement Tuesday. “I am overjoyed to welcome them back to Frasier and for the opportunity to work together once again.”

Butler, who appeared in all but one season of the original series’ 11-season run, was a series regular in Seasons 4-6. Bulldog, who had a unrequited crush on Roz, hosted KACL’s top-rated Gonzo Sports Show .

Hibbert, meanwhile, also appeared in all but one of Frasier’ s 11 seasons, appearing in 29 episodes as Restaurant Beat host Gil.

<em>Frasier</em> Enlists Greer Grammer to Play Roz’s Daughter Alice in Season 2

News of their returns follows confirmation that Peri Gilpin — aka Dr. Crane’s former KACL sidekick Roz Doyle — will recur in Season 2 after a guest turn in the Season 1 finale.

As previously reported, Patricia Heaton has been cast in Season 2 as Holly, who is described as “down-to-earth, unpretentious and openly mocking of overly-intellectual types. A Boston native who tends bar at upscale restaurants and events, Holly is extraordinarily comfortable with both who and where she is in life, a quality that the always-climbing, always-reaching Frasier finds as alien as he does attractive.”

The multi-cam has also cast Greer Grammer ( Awkward ) as Roz’s daughter Alice; Yvette Nicole Brown ( Community ) as Monica, older sister to Toks Olagundoye’s Olivia; and Amy Sedaris ( Strangers With Candy ) as Dr. “Doc” Stathos, a municipal therapist who is a very big fan of Frasier Crane from his old talk show.

A Season 2 release date has not yet been announced.
