'First Baby of the Friend Group' Has the Most Enthusiastic Hype Squad

It goes without saying that mothers of babies need all the support they can get — whether that assistance and encouragement comes from a partner or a grandparent or an aunt or a friend (or, preferably, all of the above). The best part is that the people who are there for you as a mom are there for your little one, too!

In one super cute video, a baby boy is lucky to have an entire squad of enthusiastic fans cheering him on as he crawls up the steps...and it's all because he's the "first baby of the friend group," as his mom puts it!

"King energy," wrote @lovekennwin . Those are all the aunties a kid could ever need! They're all so genuinely excited about the baby's big accomplishment. And you just know they're going to be equally as thrilled every time he does anything new. (This kid is gonna make out like a bandit on his first birthday .)

When you have a baby, you hear a lot about the importance of making friends with other mothers, and there's no question that friends with kids can be incredibly beneficial. But this video perfectly illustrates how important your friendships with people who don't have children can be, too.

Why Moms Need Friends Who Aren't Moms

Kristel Acevedo wrote about why she values her non-mom friends for Mom.com:

"I love hanging out with my friends who don't have kids for so many reasons . They view my kids with fresh eyes. They're not worn out from caring for their own children. They see any time they spend with my kids as fun. They laugh and play and entertain their endless questions. It warms my heart to see them interacting with my kids. And I like to think that I'm preparing them for parenthood in a small way. They get a glimpse at family life and see that they don't have to fear it. Or they get a glimpse and think, 'yeah, this isn't for me, but I don't mind playing with them for a little while.' When my childless friends offer to babysit I want to hug them and then run away quickly to enjoy some kid-free time. It's great."

As Acevedo explained, friends without kids can also remind moms of the people they were before they had children, which is important when it feels like your whole life revolves around your family (no matter how happy you are).

Not every mother is fortunate to have a network of non-mom friends like the women this video, but even one supportive pal can make a huge difference!
