Midland County man sent to the hospital after taking gunshot to the face

MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – A resident was sent to the hospital on Sunday after deputies found him with a gunshot wound to the face.

MCSO said on Sunday, June 9, deputies responded to the 1200 block of North County Road 1081 in reference to a disturbance involving weapons.

Upon arrival, a male subject was found with a gunshot wound to the face. The subject was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

Further investigation identified the suspect as Daniel Rico. Rico was later located and arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury. Rico was booked into the Midland County Sheriff’s Office Central Detention.

This investigation remains ongoing.
