Jeopardy! winner accidentally mimes suggestive gesture in celebration leaving fans in hysterics

Mira Hayward might have won Jeopardy! , but she made a massive misstep with a sexual gesture on live television .

The quiz expert was challenged alongside the other competitors with a Final Jeopardy! clue. "The flag of this Asian nation features part of a World Heritage Site built in the 12th century," Ken Jennings read.

Mira was able to make a correct guess — Cambodia — which secured her the win. She was able to do so with plenty of confidence because she didn't even make a wager. She was so far ahead of the others that, even if they managed to double their points, they wouldn't be able to catch up. As a result, she didn't risk it and neither did her competitors.

When it was revealed that she was correct with a $0 wager, she raised her hands, miming the number 0 with each. With her hands in a circular form, she shook them back and forth in a way that others seemed to interpret as potentially sexual. A fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: "My wife and I immediately made eye contact and laughed out loud when she did that."

"Saw this live and knew she was gonna be an instant legend," another added. A third chimed in with a cheeky joke, writing: "Looks more like the Daily Double."

Her peers were good sports about her win with one of them choosing not to answer altogether. Instead, he wrote, "Congratulations Nira!" for his response, using the opportunity to extend an olive branch.

Mishaps on the show sometimes happen. After all, responding to a massive victory like that in realtime comes with a lot of pressure. However, the fans are sometimes part of the problem, too, with reported moments where they've taken things just a bit too far.

Previous winner Anji Nyquist dealt with quite a bit of sexual harassment in the past. She went live on Instagram to interact with her fans and was, instead, met with some less-than appropriate comments. She told The Sun : "There were a lot of people who asked, ‘Would you do an OnlyFans? It would be really popular.'"
