The Tuscaloosa News continues its tradition of honoring the best high school softball players in the area. Here are the 2024 Super 9 all-area teams and the player and coach of the year:
First team
Player of the year: Kennah Beth Lacy
Winfield, Jr.
Position: Infielder
Why chosen: Lacy finished with a .455 batting average, 68 RBIs, 61 hits, 30 runs, 18 doubles, seven home runs and two stolen bases. From the circle, Lacy had a 7-4 record to go with 88 strikeouts across 64⅔ innings pitched.

Caroline Jones
Northside, So.
Position: Catcher
Why chosen: Jones had a .489 batting average, 67 hits, 53 RBIs, 20 doubles, seven home runs, two stolen bases and drew 24 walks during her sophomore season.
Ashton Moorer
Demopolis, Sr.
Position: Pitcher
Why chosen: Moorer, who reached 1,000-career strikeouts this season , finished her senior year with 252 strikeouts, a 1.36 ERA and two no hitters across 169 ⅓ innings pitched.
Mackenzie Harper
Hillcrest, Sr.
Position: Pitcher
Why chosen: The Shelton State signee finished the season with a 17-5 record from the circle with one save. She had an ERA of 2.01 and struck out 202 batters across 135 ⅔ innings.
Nichole Dockery
Hillcrest, Sr.
Position: Infielder
Why chosen: The Marion Military Institute signee had a .396 batting average, 59 hits, 51 runs, 30 RBIs, 20 doubles and 26 stolen bases.
Marti McCluskey
Hillcrest, Jr.
Position: Infielder
Why chosen: The junior had a team-high .500 batting average, 72 hits, 51 RBIs, 16 doubles, 11 triples, eight home runs and nine stolen bases.
Summer Stephens
Hale County, Sr.
Position: Infielder
Why chosen: The senior had a .490 batting average, 65 RBIs, 51 hits, 21 runs, seven home runs and 11 stolen bases.
Jewel Brooks
Hillcrest, Sr.
Position: Outfielder
Why chosen: The Northeast Community College signee batted .356 with 53 hits, 33 runs, 29 RBIs, eight doubles and nine stolen bases.
Kennedy Childers
Brookwood, So.
Position: Outfielder
Why chosen: Childers had a .327 batting average, 37 hits, 35 RBIs, 26 runs, 10 doubles, six home runs and 10 stolen bases.
Charli Kyser
American Christian Academy, Sr.
Position: Outfielder
Why chosen: The senior batted .426 to go with 60 hits, 46 RBIs, 33 runs, 12 doubles, six home runs and 10 stolen bases.
Holly Beth Brooks
Tuscaloosa County, Jr.
Position: Utility
Why chosen: The Alabama commit finished her junior season with a .424 batting average, 39 hits, 32 RBIs, nine doubles and five home runs.
Coach of the year: Tommy Honeycutt, Northside
Honeycutt led Northside to a 39-19-1 mark, along with a central regional championship and playoff appearance. Northside finished the season ranked as the No. 8 team in 4A by the ASWA.
