BCMA’s summer music camp set July 17-20

There will be plenty of rocking around the clock at the Bosque Arts Center in July when the BAC Summer Music Camp, sponsored by the Bosque Civic Music Association (BCMA), will be held for four days, Monday through Thursday, July 17-20.

Camp is half a day, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, and on Thursday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. noon.

This year's camp will highlight music of the 1950s-60s and will be led by a professional instructor and designed for children who've completed first through sixth grade.

Admission is $90, though scholarships are available.

“What a fun, educational experience for the youngsters in your life,” a spokesperson said.

The BCMA was founded in January 2009 and provides opportunities for all citizens – students and adults – to experience performances of the musical arts, and encourages the appreciation, education, and development of individual and group talents.

In addition, the BCMA provides a scholarship for a graduating senior who plans to continue musical study in college; sponsors the Bosque Chorale, a volunteer group of singers from the community, and sponsors a variety of local music performances.
