Court revokes bond for Sumner County woman who killed newborn twins

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Court of Criminal Appeals of Tennessee has revoked the recent bond filed for Lindsey Lowe, a Sumner County woman who killed her newborn twins by suffocation in 2011.
In October 2022, a Sumner County Judge granted a new trial for Lowe after her attorney argued she had poor legal representation at her first trial and at least one juror was biased against her. She was released on her own recognizance under the condition she stayed with her parents.
In a new filing on Monday, Lowe’s attorney wrote that the state’s motion was tardy and they repeatedly missed opportunities to challenge her bond over the past week.
Lowe has already served nine years of a 56-year sentence. According to testimony at trial, Lowe hid her pregnancy and killed her newborn twins hours after giving birth to them on a toilet at her parent’s home in Sumner County in September of 2011. She was arrested two months later.
Lowe was booked into the Sumner County jail Wednesday morning.
