Granville Academy held its graduation ceremony June 8 as 22 candidates walked across the stage to receive a diploma.

Kelly Helner, Granville Academy’s principal, commended the student for putting forth such a tremendous effort and staying the course to graduate.

Helner said the soon-to-be graduates had a solid future ahead with college, work, military service, technical school and much more.

Kaydence Ellanora Donaldson-Holsomback, salutatorian of Granville Academy, said the class of 2024 should be proud of their accomplishments and should continue to work toward higher goals in life.

Sophia DelCarmen Fernandez Torres, valedictorian of Granville Academy, did not deliver a commencement speech.

Stan Winborne, superintendent of Granville County Public Schools, pronounced the Pirates graduates and gave the instruction to turn the tassels.
