The first couple of months after bringing a new baby home go by in a blur of sleepless nights and dirty diapers...and that's why it's so important to take as many photos as you can! As stressful as those early weeks with a newborn can be, those first memories are precious (for you and the rest of the family, too).

Actress and mother-of-four Hilary Duff certainly has her hands full after welcoming baby daughter Townes in May, but she's still finding time to snap some adorable pics of her newest child — alongside her siblings! The celeb mom recently posted a series of photos to her Instagram Stories of Townes with her older daughters Mae, 3, and Banks, 5, and the trio of sisters couldn't be cuter.

As People reported, the big girls were all dressed up in the images, with Banks doing her best to hold the newborn for the camera.

"Mae and Banks can be seen matching in frilly white sundresses and high ponytails. Banks is holding her new little sis Townes, who’s rocking a balloon-covered onesie. Duff then shared a second version of the photo to her Story that’s fully zoomed on Townes looking uncomfortable in her sister's arms, showing the baby’s funny face."

At least Banks tried! And both girls seem thrilled to have a baby sister , though they probably have mixed emotions at times. After all, no matter how exciting it can be , it's not easy to get used to a new sibling when you're just a little kid!

How to Help Your Toddler Adjust to a New Baby

If your toddler seems to be struggling with jealousy after you bring home a baby sibling (which is, of course, super common), it's important to  " acknowledge your child’s feelings ," according to What to Expect.

"Know that your little one may express negative feelings or act out, and don’t scold. Instead say, 'Being a big sibling can be hard. Sometimes you will feel sad or mad or do things you don’t mean to do and that’s OK. We will always love you and want to help you feel better.'"

Spending as much one-on-one time with your toddler is also key, even though it's not always easy to pull off. Even 10 to 20 minutes every day can make a huge difference.

"One way to accomplish this more easily is to wear your newborn in a sling, which gives you two free hands to play a game with your older child. And have your older child cuddle while you’re nursing."

Whenever your toddler is patient and gentle with the baby, be sure to give them plenty of praise for being a helpful older sibling, which will encourage them to keep up the good behavior.

Life with a new baby and a toddler won't always be picture perfect, but the good times will make it all worthwhile!
