    Twin girls die after overdose, mother arrested and charged

    BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A woman was arrested on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in relation to the death of two twin toddlers.

    30-year-old Olivia Moore, was arrested on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 for two counts of child neglect causing death.

    West Virginia State Police investigating deaths of twin toddlers in Raleigh County

    According to the criminal complaint, troopers responded to reports of unresponsive twin babies in Raleigh County on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Once troopers arrived on the scene, they found that the twins were dead with foam coming from their mouths.

    Troopers reported that the twins were moved from a back bedroom to a couch in the living room by Moore before members of law enforcement arrived on scene. The scene was secured by members of the West Virginia State Police, who then contacted the West Virginia State police Crime Scene Team so that the crime scene could be processed.

    The home was tested for carbon monoxide by the Bradley Volunteer Fire Department, which came back negative.

    Deadly shooting in Mercer County under investigation

    Moore was interviewed by a trooper at the Beckley Detachment of the West Virginia State Police while the scene was being processed by the crime scene team. The criminal complaint stated that according to Moore, she was looking after the twins the previous night and that morning. During the interview, Moore told troopers that something appeared off with the twins at around 2:00 a.m. in the morning, but they were still alive.

    When the investigating trooper received the death certificates for the babies, they made note of ethanol and fentanyl intoxication, as well as carfentanil, acetylfentanyl, lidocane, quinine, and diphenhydramine intoxication.

    Troopers proceeded to contact Moore on Monday, June 10, 2024 and requested a meeting with a trooper at the West Virginia State Police Beckley Detachment. Moore was arrested following another interview on Tuesday, June 11, 2024
