ROAD CLOSURE: LA 553 near Sterlington in Ouachita Parish to be closed on Saturday, June 15th

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KTVE/KARD) — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the closure of LA 553 near Sterlington in Ouachita Parish on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

The closure distance will be approximately seven miles west of US 165 and is to replace a cross drainpipe. The reopening is expected to be on Sunday, June 16, 2024, weather permitting.

DOTD reminds drivers to be careful when driving through construction site and look out for work crews and equipment. For area residents, it is important to be careful walking or biking near the construction area.
