301 Endless Yard Sale features 10 Nash vendors

Ten Nash County businesses will offer their wares to bargain-hunters this Friday and Saturday as the 301 Endless Yard Sale turns an eastern North Carolina thoroughfare into a regional swap meet.
Founded in Selma and now hosted by a variety of towns along U.S. 301 in Halifax, Nash, Wilson, Johnston and Harnett counties, the 301 Endless Yard Sale remains a popular annual event. Along the 100-mile-plus stretch of highway, vendors and home yard sale locations offer deals on antiques, collectibles, DIY furniture, crafts and more.
“The five visitor bureaus work together to promote the event, map out vendor locations and keep an open line of communication between local stores, restaurants, residents and county officials, but we’re just the middleman for the sale,” said Ashby Brame, vice president of marketing and communications for the Johnston County Visitors Bureau. “Really, we could probably step out of the way and everyone would still show up. People are very enthusiastic about this event.”
Going strong for more than 10 years, the regional yard sale attracts more than 20,000 shoppers and more than 500 vendors each June. People often stay overnight in the area to take advantage of the two full days of the sale and hopefully cover the entire 100-plus miles.
Locations for vendors across the five participating counties are posted on www.301endlessyard.com . Organizers expect the website to receive more than 100,000 unique page views prior to and during the sale.
“This is a long-running, successful event promoting the beauty of North Carolina’s backroads and the friendliness of our residents. We pride ourselves with bringing in people from over 20 states who not only shop the sale, but eat in local restaurants and stay in local hotels,” Brame said. “As in years past, we would like to remind everyone to be safe as they shop. Please keep other cars, pedestrians and emergency vehicles in mind as you park and drive along the route.”
Nash County vendors include Whitakers Revitalize & Preserve at 101 N. White St. in Whitakers and nine locations in Rocky Mount: A Second Season, InJoy Thrift Store, Small Shops Marketplace, the Salvation Army Thrift Store, N.C. Beer Factory, Trash 2 Treasure, Tar River Flea Market, the Rocky Mount Stockyard Flea Market and Bags & Bins.
Vendor locations in Wilson County include the Rocky Mount/Wilson Flea Market in Elm City; Truely Unique, the Wilson County Fairgrounds and Classic Consignments at Boone’s Antiques in Wilson; and Little Rock Original Free Will Baptist Church in Lucama.
