A royal author claims Prince Harry could face “consequences” from King Charles if he doesn’t “obey” a request to stop talking about the royal family.

King Charles wants to put an end to Prince Harry’s royal family chatter

The Mirror shared commentary from royal author Tom Quinn about King Charles and Prince Harry’s relationship. The monarch is reportedly putting his foot down regarding any further chatter from the Duke of Sussex surrounding the royal family.

“Harry has been asked directly by his father not to write or say publicly anything further about the family or his brother that might cause trouble. And everyone knows that when a king asks you to do something, there are going to be consequences if you do not obey,” Quinn revealed.

He continued, “Over the years that Harry has complained about his treatment by his family, he has had just one aim; to get an apology and see his father and brother make amends. Harry just can’t see that complaining in private might work.”

“Complaining publicly just makes things worse. In Harry’s case, that means more and more ties to his past being severed.”

However, whether the king would follow through with this reported claim remains to be seen. Prince Harry has not spoken in a negative manner about his family since the release of his autobiography, Spare , in 2023.

When was the last time Prince Harry saw King Charles?

While it is unknown how much personal communication Prince Harry and King Charles have, the two last saw one another shortly after Charles’ cancer announcement in February 2024. Harry flew to London to visit Charles within days of the news becoming public.

Harry reportedly met with Charles for less than an hour after traveling from California to England. The Duke of Sussex left the following day to return home to wife Meghan Markle, and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

In an interview with ABC News , Prince Harry spoke of the brief visit. “I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could.”

He added, “Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane, go see him and spend any time with him. I’m grateful for that.”

“I’ve got other trips planned that will take me through the U.K. or back to the U.K. So I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can,” Harry concluded.

Prince Harry spoke discussed his experiences within the royal family in his autobiography, Spare . King Charles’ second son voiced his displeasure about certain family members and made allegations that reportedly led to a royal rift .

Harry alleged that his brother, Prince William, became physical with him during an altercation at Nottingham Cottage. He claims King Charles begged his warring sons not to “make my final years a misery.” Harry also admitted he told Charles not to marry Camilla Parker Bowles.

Harry also alleged that after Queen Elizabeth’s death, as he was headed toward Balmoral in Scotland, he received a call from Charles. He reportedly told Harry he was welcome at the Scottish residence but Meghan Markle was not.

Since Spare ‘s release, Prince Harry has remained largely silent about further grievances toward the royal family. He resides in California, where he remains busy with charity endeavors and his and Meghan’s Archewell Productions.
