Good Morning America 's George Stephanopoulos was noticeably absent from the morning show on Thursday, June 13, but his co-hosts weren't left without a fill-in for the broadcast.

His co-hosts Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan were instead joined by Whit Johnson , who co-anchors the weekend editions of GMA .

A reason for Stephanopoulos' absence was not explicitly stated during Thursday's broadcast , but we already know the TV anchor has had a busy few weeks.

Following the release of his brand new memoir, The Situation Room , Stephanopoulos has had a jam-packed schedule to promote the best-selling book.

From appearances on The View and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert , to hosting panel conversations and book signings all over the country, Stephanopoulos, 63, has had a busy month, to say the least.

Just earlier this week, he appeared as a guest on Live with Kelly and Mark , catching up with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos during the Monday, June 10 broadcast.

And Stephanopoulos isn't the only GMA co-host who has had a lot on their plate lately, as Strahan, was also missing from his usual spot on the show last week, was presumably at home to support 19-year-old daughter Isabella Strahan on her ongoing cancer journey.

The former NFL player didn't confirm any reason for his absence, however, his daughter had previously revealed that her final round of chemotherapy was scheduled for the start of the summer.
