3 Renter-Friendly Hacks to Totally Upgrade the Bathroom
By Magdalena Mercy,
If you live in a rented space , chances are you might be a little bored of your bathroom. Most modern apartments have the same dull wall colors, florescent lights, and dark grey accents. If that's your vibe, that's great! But if you're wanting a warmer, spa-like aesthetic, then you need to try these tricks.
And don't worry, these don't require any power tools! These are super easy additions to a rented bathroom that will totally transform the space. Obviously you'll want to ask your landlord if you are allowed to paint the walls, but even if you're not, you can still make a huge difference with some affordable products.
You might assume that because you rent your home, you might have to sacrifice personal style and aesthetics just to ensure you get your security deposit back. But that could not be farther from the truth! There are so many ways to upgrade your home without permanently altering the space; you're simply adding on personal touches that can easily be removed when you finally move out.
TikTok user Tina ( @tinalemac ) is an avid DIYer with one of the most creative brains we've ever seen. From duping luxury sculptures to building an entire house for her cat, Tina never stops creating and her page is definitely one to check out if you want to feel DIY-inspired.
Try These 3 Easy Renter-Friendly Bathroom Hacks
When Tina first moved into her apartment, she was a little disappointed at just how grey and basic her primary bathroom was. While it was a super nice bathroom, it just didn't feel super home-y so Tina decided to fix that immediately with her own inventions.
1. Funky wall paper
Even if you're not able to paint one of your walls like Tina was, you can still use peel-and-stick wallpaper to add a fun accent to your bathroom wall. Tina grabbed a wavy textured paper and applied it to the bottom half of her back bathroom wall.
2. Fun trim
For another unique touch that is easily removable at move-out, grab some thin peel-and-stick trim to create a wavy design across your wall. This adds so much character and it's so cheap!
3. Shower lines
You know how luxury bathrooms always have those matte black grids and edges around their shower and mirror? Well, you can have those too! All you need is a rule and some black tape. Tina measured out a small grid on her walk-in shower glass and added in her tape lines. This immediately made the space look super custom and lux.
