White Sox Injury Update: Eloy Jimenez Begins Rehab Assignment

The Chicago White Sox featured a lengthy injury report entering June but are slowly getting healthier. Luis Robert Jr. returned last week, Andrew Benintendi rejoined the team Wednesday, and Tommy Pham is expected back Thursday or Friday. Now, Eloy Jimenez is on the mend as the White Sox sent him to the Arizona Complex League for a rehab assignment.

Jimenez is no stranger to injuries, the latest of which was a left hamstring strain that forced him to the 10-day IL on May 22. Before going on the shelf for the second time this season, he slashed .231/.288/.381 with five home runs, five doubles, and 12 RBIs in 146 plate appearances.

Jimenez's underwhelming performance was just one of many factors behind the White Sox' abysmal start to the season offensively. While the South Siders are still struggling to find wins, they've picked it up in the power department with home runs in their last 13 games. The Dominican slugger certainly hopes to assist in that regard when he rejoins the MLB club.
