(WJBF) – Three people are in jail, charged with stealing dozens of cans of baby formula from several Columbia County stores.

A NewsChannel 6 crew was at the Kroger on Jimmie Dyess Parkway when the suspects were pulled over and arrested.

Investigators say they believe the suspects took about $5,000 worth of formula. But as they continue to investigate that number could go higher.

The suspects are identified as Jose Salvador Solis-Hernandez, Dulce Maria Tovar-Sanchez and Angel Jesus Preza-Gonzales.

They are currently in the Columbia County jail.

Angel Jesus Presa-Gonzales, 21, is charged with four counts of Felony Theft by Shoplifting and three counts of Misdemeanor Theft by Shoplifting.

Jose Salvador, 20, and Dulce Marie Tova-Sanchez, 22, are also being held on the same charges.

Law enforcement in Columbia County has denied bond for all three suspects in this case. According to Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, none of the individuals arrested Thursday are American citizens and none of them have any form of government-issued identification.
