ST. CHARLES COUNTY — First responders were called to a lake on Walnut Hill Court near Weldon Spring for a reported drowning. Metro West Dive and Rescue is on the scene, searching the water for a missing adult.

The victim was Darron Hutson, 44, of St. Charles, Mo. The initial call reported an adult in the pond around 8:10 a.m. The victim went under the water and did not resurface. His body was pulled from the water around 8:35 a.m. Police tell FOX 2 that Hutson has lived in the neighborhood with his family.

The victim, who had special needs, had a history of being found in the water. Corporal Barry Bayles of the St. Charles County Police Department reported that some fishermen witnessed the man entering the water and called 911.

The Cottleville Fire Department and the St. Charles Ambulance District also responded to the 911 call.

This is a developing story, and FOX 2 will provide updates as more information becomes available.
