Easy Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso Copycat Recipe: Save Money and Skip the Coffee Shop:

    2024-06-15

Starbucks' Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is one of the chain's most popular drinks. It even earned the top spot out of 35 other Starbucks beverages from the Tasting Table. However, the drink is not cheap. A Grande Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso is currently $5.95, according to the Starbucks App.

Starbucks has never been known for a modestly priced cup of java, but recently, even its most loyal fans have begun questioning the high costs. Fortunately, it's not that hard to make your own delicious coffee drinks at home.

Read on for an easy recipe using few ingredients that will let you sip on your favorite Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Espresso for a fraction of the price at Starbucks.

Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Espresso Copycat Recipe

Oat milk is what Starbucks uses, but feel free to sub in your favorite milk. Also, you can buy brown sugar syrup (Amazon sells bottles of it), but it's very easy to make your own. We've included a quick recipe below.

    Ingredients

    • 1/3 cup of espresso (you can also use strongly brewed coffee)
    • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar syrup (use bottled or see recipe below)
    • 1/2 cup oat milk (or your choice of milk)
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Method

    1. Pour espresso or brewed coffee with the brown sugar syrup into a mason jar filled with ice (you could also use a cocktail shaker.)
    2. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds. You want the espresso to be frothy.
    3. Pour the mixture including the ice, into a glass and add your milk. Add more ice if needed.
    4. Optionally, you can sprinkle a little ground cinnamon on top.

    Brown Sugar Syrup Recipe

To save money, you can easily make your own brown sugar syrup. Simply add 1 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 cup water to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously as the mixture simmers. Once the sugar has dissolved (about 10 minutes) remove from heat and cool. You can keep this in the refrigerator in an airtight container and use what you need for your coffee drinks.
