Hoda Kotb Cracks Hilarious Joke After Jenna Bush Hager Reveals Her “Delusional” Shopping Habits: “You Can Wash Your Car With It”

Today hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager engaged in a hilarious chat about how difficult clothes shopping can be during Friday’s broadcast, and it was a seriously relatable moment for viewers.

After Bush Hager admitted she recently broke two zippers on her clothes, Kotb fired back, “How about when you have a dress that you wore six months ago that was a little baggy, and and then you put it on — my first thought is, what happened to this dress? Did it shrink, did I wash it?”

Bush Hager then shared a bad shopping habit that she’s since dropped. “You know what I used to do which was just delusional? And this girl is gone, this girl is goodbye. Because, before children, I actually did it. I went to a sale, I saw a dress that I loved, it did not fit me but I was like, ‘In three months, this is gonna fit like a glove.’ It was too small, I purchased that dress [because it was] 80% off.”

Everyone’s been there. But Kotb joked, “You can wash your car with it later.”

They ended the segment with some wise, parting words for their viewers: “Guess what, y’all? If it don’t fit, quit,” Bush Hager said. “If it don’t fit leave it on the sale rack, it’s not gonna fit you in three months. In fact, it will be smaller.”

She added, “I don’t do that anymore because I’m grown.”

The candid chat about clothes and shopping comes just days after Bush Hager confessed she was a bit of an “exhibitionist ” when she was younger.

“Actually, my first year at Camp Longhorn,… I got locked out of the cabin naked in front of the boys. My first year, I didn’t have that many friends,” she recalled during a recent broadcast.

When Kotb wondered, “What did you do?” Bush Hager replied, “I think I was probably just like, ‘Hey, boys!’ I sort of feel like, take it or leave it, you know?”

Kotb praised her Today co-host.

“What’s great about you is, as we have known over the years, you are you, and you don’t care. Some people are much more conservative,” she said.
