Out Run Hunger 5k in Milford benefits Food Bank of Delaware

MILFORD -- The Food Bank of Delaware will hold its third annual Out Run Hunger 5k run/walk on June 26 at the new Milford facility.

The proceeds raised from the event will go to the Food Bank of Delaware's hunger relief operations in Kent and Sussex counties. A recent study by Feeding America found more than 57,000 residents in Kent and Sussex counties are food insecure.

A post-race party will feature tie-dying, food prepared by the Food Bank's culinary team, libations from EasySpeak Spirits and music.

The race starts at 6:30 p.m. at the new facility on 102 Delaware Veterans Blvd in Milford.

The first 125 pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt. A complimentary cocktail ticket for those 21 and over will be given at the event.

The chip timing is provided by Fusion Racing and awards will be presented to top finishers overall and in the 10-year age bracket.

It is $35 to register. For every $1 the Food Bank can provide three meals for neighbors in need.
