As the first song of Miranda Lambert's anticipated new album came out on May 17 as a strong start to something new. The music video for that song, titled 'Wranglers,' came out nearly a month later on June 13.
We all know Miranda Lambert for her sometimes excessive drama and humorous lyrics but also for deep, true country and relatable songs. The 'Bluebird' singer and songwriter has continued to break records for women in country music. She has a multitude of accolades from songs of the year, the female artist of the year and more! Her newest single 'Wranglers' tells a unique story and rather somewhat dramatized or not, Lambert knows how to grab an audiences' attention.
This song tells a story about a women who 'set it all on fire' after a breakup and through the heartbreak. Miranda is known for songs just like this, where the woman takes charge. The video highly complements the song and illustrates the story perfectly.
'She set it all on fire, and if there's one thing that she learned. Wranglers take forever to burn'
The music video, shows exactly that, Lambert and her friends burning a pair of wrangler jeans said to be owned by the ex-boyfriend that inspired the song. Ironically, the can of kerosene brought fans back to Lamberts 2005 hit song, 'Kerosene.'
The songwriters behind the song are Audra Mae, Evan McKeever, and Ryan Carpenter. It is said that Mae and Lambert had a conversation about past boyfriends and toxic relationships and that led to the song.
'Wrangler' was the first solo release from Lambert since her 2022 album, 'Palomino.'
In a statement after the release, Lambert said, "I think we can all identify with the character in this video, because we have all had a time in our life where we needed to find our strength, and also get a little revenge on someone who did us wrong or hurt us. This offers such a cool, raging take on how something like this unravels; I am so proud to sing this song,"
