Neighbors react after infant’s remains found in Ohio County

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Debbie Welch says she’s been following the story of the disappearance of Baby Miya since day one, and that she used to be friends with the parents.

“I can’t believe they would have done something like that,” said Welch. “He is always going on about his kids, and he loved his kids so much, crazy about them … and then to do something like that, I just can’t see anybody doing it.”

Robert Purvis also claimed she knew Miya’s parents, and lives near the home where KSP found remains matching the eight-month-old’s description. She said she was hoping for a better outcome, but had a feeling it would not end well.

“It’s got to be heartbreaking, I didn’t even really know them, and it’s heartbreaking,” said Purvis. “I’m just glad it’s all over.”
