    Route K Bridge over drywood creek in Barton County to be replaced

    BARTON COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) -- Road crews are set to start work to replace the Barton County Route K bridge over Drywood Creek beginning June 17, 2024.

    According to MoDOT, contractor crews will replace the current bridge with a new wider structure.

    Traffic Impacts

    • All lanes of Route K CLOSED at the bridge for the duration of the project
    • Drivers will have access to entrances and driveways at either end of the bridge but will not be able to travel through the work zone
    • No signed detour planned
    • Drivers are urged to find alternate routes around the work zone

    MoDOT says the bridge will be closed for up to six months.

    Weather may alter the work schedule.

    Project background:

    • Prime Contractor: Hartman & Company Inc., Springfield
    • Completion Date: December 1, 2024
    • Total project cost: $2.7 million
