    Homes sales up more than 10 percent in Massachusetts

    CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley has released its May housing market report.

    New state-of-the-art community health center coming to Springfield

    Home closings have increased slightly since last year, but they’re still selling for more money than last May. The median sale price for homes was $355,000, which is 10.9% higher than last year of $320,000.

    There were 377 homes sold in May this year, which is up 1.1% over May 2023. The inventory of available homes for sale in May was down 15.1% with 572 on the market versus 674 homes in May 2023.

    The average time on the market is down by 12.6% year-over-year, averaging 33 days.

    There are currently 228 houses for sale in Hampden County under $350,000 according to Zillow .
