Devastating Lula Fire Leaves Family Homeless

The Banks County Fire Department is investigating a weekend fire in Lula that left a family homeless, according to a news release from Fire Chief Steve Nichols.

Nichols says units responded to the blaze at 395 Rock Springs Road shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday, June 14.

When firefighters arrived, they found the single-family home fully engulfed in flames. According to officials, the father and teenage son who lived there were not at home when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported.

Crews spent four hours on the scene working to extinguish the flames and keep the fire from spreading.

Firefighters called in the American Red Cross to assist the displaced family.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the blaze.
