Dollar Tree Punch Bowls Magically Turn Into Bold Solar Lights with Simple Trick
By Kourtney Borman,

Ready for another Dollar Tree score? How about something that will light up your night? TikTok creator Rocio Ruiz has come up with the perfect hack for giving your backyard a bit of a glow, and it's all thanks to some Dollar Tree bowls, a couple of solar lights, and a bit of spray paint. Let's dive right in and see how this magical trick works.
For this hack, you're going to want to head out and grab a couple of the large crystal-looking punch bowls from Dollar Tree . Make sure you get at least doubles of however many lights you want to make, so if you want to make two lights, you'll need four bowls. You'll also want to grab some Frosted Glass spray paint, which you can find at most big-box stores, as well as some solar lights. These can occasionally be found at Dollar Tree as well, but you might have better luck grabbing them from Amazon.
Once you have your supplies, it's time to get started. Grab your bowls and spray the inside (not the outside) with the spray paint. Make sure you get a good, even coat, and allow it to dry completely. This will give your bowls a frosted , glowing effect once the solar lights are inside. After the spray paint has dried, pop your solar light into the bottom of one of the bowls. To hold it in place, use something like Gorilla Glue. You don't want to use hot glue, because if you live somewhere warm, it might get a bit melty from being outside in the heat.
Next, put a bit more Gorilla Glue on the lip of the first bowl, then turn the second one upside down and press it onto the first bowl. This will create an orb with the light inside. Finally, place your new solar lights outside wherever you'd like to light up a bit of space, such as along a path or by some darker nooks.
Will The Light Work Through The Glass?
Another option is to leave the glass unfrosted, which might also benefit the lights since they might not be as powerful or recharge as easily without direct sunlight. Simply follow all the same steps, minus the glass frosting, and watch as your night is lit up with these stunning DIY solar lights . This alternative method allows for more light to shine through and makes the solar lights even more effective. You can also place battery operated lights inside instead, but you'd need to figure out a way to open the orb for recharging or replacement.
