Kenny Chesney Says He Used To Try To Impress Girls By Quoting Mathematical Formulas: “Not As Many Dates As My Guitar Did”

A tip for the dudes: Next time you're trying to impress the ladies, forget showing her your amateur guitar rendition of "Wonderwall," and just break out the Pythagorean Theorem. Ok, I'm not surprised this doesn't really work. (Although to be honest I'm surprised that "Wonderwall" does work). But apparently Kenny Chesney has a party trick that he used to break out on dates involving mathematical formulas to try to pick up girls. During a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kenny admit that he used to have a rather bizarre way of trying to impress the ladies: "Well I used to try to impress girls by quoting different formulas, like mathematical formulas. And sometimes it worked and sometimes they looked at me like I was crazy." Kenny then showed off his knowledge by rattling off the quadratic formula, which I hadn't heard of since high school algebra and have long since repressed deep in my brain. I mean, unless you're an engineer or something, who needs to know these things? Why does the singer of "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" still remember the quadratic formula? But anyway, it's a pretty impressive skill - though Kenny admits that it never really helped him with his dating game: "Not many. A few, but not as many dates as my guitar did." He did joke though, that maybe that's why his alma mater, East Tennessee State University, presented him with an honorary doctorate back in 2022. But maybe next time he wants to impress a girl, just break out "You and Tequila" instead of the quadratic equation.
