MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Senior left tackle Wyatt Milum’s stock continues to rise, nationally, in the buildup to the 2024 college football season.

Milum is a preseason All-American, according to veteran national college football reporter Phil Steele. Steele lists Milum as a Third-Team All-American on his annual preseason awards list. The Kenova, West Virginia, native was a big part of West Virginia’s offensive efforts last year, and helped the Mountaineers become one of the best rushing teams in the sport.

Milum is also a First-Team Preseason All-Big 12 member, according to Steele. Milum is joined on the First-Team by teammate Austin Brinkman, an Iron Mountaineer Award Winner and long snapper for WVU.

Tight end Kole Taylor and redshirt junior offensive lineman Tomas Rimac have garnered Second-Team All-Big 12 recognition. Rimac started all 11 games he appeared in last season, and did not allow a sack in 2023 according to WVU. In his first year with West Virginia, Taylor hauled in 35 passes for 444 yards and four touchdowns.

West Virginia native Sean Martin and shifty running back Jahiem White are listed on the Third-Team All-Big 12 list by Steele. White was one of the best freshman players in the country last season, rushing for 842 yards and averaging nearly eight yards per attempt en route to Freshman All-American honors. Martin tallied 27 total tackles, five tackles for loss and one sack last season, his first as the unquestioned leader of WVU’s defensive line.

Kicker Michael Hayes (17-21 FG) and redshirt sophomore linebacker Trey Lathan are on Steele’s fourth All-Big 12 preseason team. Lathan had an immediate impact on WVU’s defense last year, but missed the second half of the season due to injury.

West Virginia opens the 2024 season at home against Penn State on Saturday, Aug. 31 at noon ET.
