George Strait Performs New Song “Three Drinks Behind” At Kyle Field

Cowboys And Dreamers is looking like it's going to be full of heaters. On Saturday night, The King of Country Music proved why that is his nickname beating his own record for the largest ticketed concert in United States history. Nearly 111,000 people gathered in Aggieland at Kyle Field to watch George Strait perform two hours of pure country gold. While George Strait made sure to stick to some of his fan favorites with his new album Cowboys And Dreamers gearing up for its fall release, it only makes sense for Strait to give fans a little teaser of what is in store. After the release of the two singles off the tracklist, "MIA Down In MIA" and "The Little Things," Strait played fans a brand new one, "Three Drinks Behind." While this is not the first time Strait has played this one on stage, singing it to his largest crowd ever hits differently. The cheeky tune details how one can unplug when at a dive bar, and you can just let go of thoughts and have fun with the locals at the watering hole. All of life's problems feel like they could be solved if they weren't three drinks behind. "This bar’s where I come to, when life gets to me, A night without thinkin’, is just what I need. It feels like things happen, no reason or rhyme, It’s just that the whole world is three drinks behind." Every time Strait performs the song, he notes to fans that he is never "Three Drinks Behind." Similar to "MIA Down In MIA," I feel like this is a single that Jimmy Buffett would have loved. Nothing like a little tune that makes you want to unplug and pull out a cold beer or, in Strait's case, a bottle of Codigo tequila.
