BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — An Executive Director for the Beckley VA Medical Center was announced by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
George B. Drexel, IV, was chosen as the Beckley VA Medical Center’s Executive Director, and will be involved with the delivery of health care for more than 13,250 Veterans.

His considerable experience in operations, strategic planning, finance, HR and performance improvement are valuable assets for the medical center, its staff, and most importantly, the Veterans we are honored to serve. Mr. Drexel will begin his official appointment immediately

Fayette County Humane Society holds adoption event due to being in Code Red Previously the Asheville VA Healthcare System’s associate director in North Carolina, Drexel oversaw a variety of topics that included environmental management, financial management, veteran’s mobility management, facilities management, information security, VA police, the office of information and technology, and biomedical engineering.
Drexel is a United States Marine Corps Veteran who served honorably from 1991 to 1995. He graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration in Information Systems Management from Catawba College, and received a Master Degree of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
