Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back in “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” but another star making a return in the fourth installment is the Porsche.

Yes, the luxury sports car is a supporting character in the franchise, with the Porsche 911 Turbo S featured prominently in “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.”

Porsche has had a long association with the “Bad Boys” movies. In the original 1995 film, Smith’s character, Detective Mike Lowrey, drove a black 964-generation 911 Turbo 3.6 from director Michael Bay’s personal collection. The 2003 sequel, “Bad Boys II,” also featured a Porsche, while the 2020 film “Bad Boys for Life” showcased a Gentian Blue 992-generation 911 Carrera 4S, according to Porsche’s official website.

Under its sleek hood, the Porsche 911 Turbo S boasts a powerful 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine, delivering 641 horsepower at 6,750 rpm and a robust 590 lb-ft of torque from 2,500 to 4,000 rpm, according to Carwale.

The Turbo S can go from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.7 seconds when equipped with the Sport Chrono Package, achieving a top track speed of 205 mph (330 km/h), making it one of the fastest production cars available today, according to True Car.

According to Car and Driver, it is standard for the car to have an all-wheel drive. Shifts are handled by an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

“Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” hit theaters on June 5, with the film is already generating buzz for continuing the beloved action-comedy franchise with its signature blend of action and humor.

Variety reported that the film had a strong debut, earning $56 million from 3,885 North American theaters during its opening weekend. This impressive domestic performance was further boosted by an additional $48.6 million from international markets, resulting in the film’s worldwide opening total of $104.6 million.

Although “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” had a solid start, it did not surpass the opening weekend record set by its predecessor, “Bad Boys for Life,” which debuted with $62 million in 2020. Nevertheless, the $56 million domestic earnings are a promising start, especially considering the current box office climate.
