At first glance, pool noodles may seem limited in their uses. After all, they're designed for floating, splashing, and all things, well, pool related. However, with a little creativity and some basic supplies, you can give these summer staples a brand-new purpose.
Before you start, you'll need to gather your materials. Grab a few pool noodles, duct tape, glue, silver spray paint, and mirror ball tape. You might already have some of these items at home, but if not, they’re easily found at your local store or online.
Start by cutting your pool noodles into equal lengths. Typically, this means dividing each noodle into thirds. Don't worry about getting it perfect; a little variation adds character. These segments will form the individual links of your chain.
Take one length of noodle and bend the ends until they touch. Use glue to secure the ends together, forming a circular shape. Once glued, wrap the entire thing in a single layer of duct tape . This step is crucial as it adds durability to your links, ensuring they hold their shape. Repeat the previous step to create multiple links. Make sure to loop each new link through the already finished one before closing it with glue and duct tape. This process will result in a continuous chain of pool noodle links.
With your chain complete, it's time to add some sparkle. Take your silver spray paint and coat the entire chain. Be sure to cover every nook and cranny for a uniform look. Allow the paint to dry completely and then comes the fun part – applying the mirror ball tape. This tape comes in strips and can be found on Amazon. You might need to experiment with the placement to achieve the desired effect, but once applied, your chain will dazzle with a disco ball-like shimmer.
Hang your newly crafted disco ball chain in a spot where it can catch the light. Whether it's in your living room, bedroom, or even outdoors, the shimmering reflections will create a mesmerizing display.
