Artists get the chance to display art in Lackawanna County Courthouse

LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Lackawanna County is looking for artwork done by local artists for a permanent display at the courthouse in Scranton.

Artists can submit images until August 9 and those selected will be notified by the end of that month.

If your artwork is selected, you will receive $100 to cover the costs of materials.

Officials say the artwork should fit within the themes of the Electric City listed below.

• Community life in Lackawanna County- events/programs, people, places, streetscapes, homes, heritage, food, diversity, activities, organizations, arts/music
• Moments of historical importance
• Landmarks
• Civic Duty- patriotism, celebrating veterans, volunteering
• Architecture and Industry
• Land and Recreation
