Jordan Peele Breaks His Social Media Silence To Make Cryptic Announcement

The Academy Award winner behind Get Out , Us and Nope has shaken up the internet, making a cryptic announcement which people assume is the release date for his next project as a director — a film he says "could be [his] favourite".

Peele broke his social media silence, having not posted on Instagram since January nor on X (formerly known as Twitter) since March, to announce that something is coming on October 23, 2026.

However, the prolific horror director didn't offer any further information on what to expect, nor what the date means.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting an update from Peele since his untitled film fell off the release calendar following the strikes in Hollywood.

Initially set to head into production in 2023 with a Christmas Day release this year, the project got delayed indefinitely, and this is the first piece of news we've heard on it since.

Reactions started pouring in, and some fans were not psyched to discover they'll have to wait two more years to see what Peele is cooking up.

The hint that this will be the release date for his next film was hinted at by Peele's production company, Monkeypaw Productions, who retweeted with the cheeky eyes emoji.
