It’s hard for adults to stay immune from all the latest internet trends. So it shouldn’t be all that surprising that Reign Disick — at just 9 years old — has already fallen prey to one of the biggest trends among t(w)een boys. The youngest of Scott Disick and ex Kourtney Kardashian’s kids is already doing everything he can to enhance his appearance (so to speak) and it’s so disheartening.

The little guy is “mewing”.
Scott posted a picture to his Instagram yesterday of what looks like Reign taking a selfie at a restaurant. He’s wearing a gray hoodie, making a “shh” sign in front of his mouth (the universal “can’t talk, I’m mewing” gesture), and has his brow furrowed.
“A star is born,” Disick — who also shares kids Mason and Penelope with Kardashian — captioned the photo. Kardashian is also mom to baby Rocky, who she shares with husband Travis Barker, and shares three stepkids with the Blink-182 drummer.
“Mewing” means that Reign is pressing his tongue against the roof of his mouth with the (dubious) long-term goal of giving himself a sharper jawline. The trend is all over social media, and popularly believed to make the jawline and cheekbones more defined — though, according to the American Association of Orthodontists , “[S]cientific evidence supporting mewing’s jawline-sculpting claims is as thin as dental floss.” A person’s facial structure is influenced by a combination of factors such as genetics, muscle development, and bone growth — and changing your tongue placement isn’t likely to make any substantial changes (sorry, kiddos!).
“HELP WHY IS HE MEWING 😭,” one commenter said.
“Bro mewing at 6 years old is crazy,” another wrote. And no, Reign is not 6. He’s 9. But still! He’s in elementary school and already so worried about his appearance.
The other conversation in the comments was about who is actually Reign’s father. Yes, this is still somehow a discussion. There were those who insisted the kid looks just like Kardashian’s former fling, Justin Bieber, and others who said he is Scott’s twin. But as far as we’re concerned, he looks just like his mama.
In April, the Lemme founder shared some throwbacks from four years ago. “Disposable archives summer 2020,” Kardashian captioned the photos on Instagram, and she and Reign have the same look — both physically and vibe-wise. He wasn’t mewing at the time (was anyone?!) but he definitely looked like he could give one of Kourt’s signature stare-downs.
