Y&R’s Michelle Stafford Reveals She Sprained Her Ankle

The actress — who recently took home her third Daytime Emmy Award — first showed off her injury on June 16 when she shared a TikTok of herself twirling around in the yard to Fleetwood Mac singing “Silver Springs” while wearing a big boot on her left foot and a big smile on her face. Her caption of “Who would like a Bloodhound?” had fans assuming that she had an accident with her dog, Rufus.

BFF Finola Hughes (Anna, General Hospital) asked in the comments, “What happened?” But in a follow-up post on June 18, Stafford still didn’t explain exactly what caused her injury, though she did clarify it was just a sprained ankle.

In this video, Stafford showed off her wrapped ankle as she attempted to put a plastic bag over it so she could take a shower without getting the bandages wet. Admitting she’s never broken anything before, the actress said “It’s all new to me.” After sealing the bag around her calf with packing tape, she gave it a shot. Cutting the bag off her foot, she found that it kept the bandages “dry-ish” and decided it was a success.

Thankfully, it was just a sprain, so Y&R shouldn’t need to write the injury into Phyllis’ storyline on the soap. But if you see the character limping or doing a lot of sitting down, you’ll know why! We wish Stafford a very speedy recovery and hopefully, she’s back on her feet in a few weeks!
