Columbia County recently announced multiple road closures that will affect traffic this week.

Closures will impact drivers who travel on North Farview Drive and Furys Ferry Road.

Here's a look at the closures and their purposes:

    North Fairview Drive closure

A closure will take place on North Fairview Drive due to paving, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through June 27, according to the county.

    Furys Ferry Road closure

Another closure will take place on Furys Ferry Road, in front of Sullivan Hartfield Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Friday, according to the county.

In addition, the county extended a road closure on Furys Ferry Road between Rivermont Drive and Culbreath Drive.

The road will remain closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day through June 28, according to the county.

The closures are associated with the roadway-widening project for Furys Ferry Road. Officials said to expect delays and seek an alternate route, if possible.

"Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected," according to the county. "If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe."
