CARBONDALE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is in custody after police say he told officers there was a bomb inside of a building.

On June 15, around 8:10 p.m., the Lackawanna County Communication Center received a call from the Threat Line.

According to the Carbondale Police Department, 43-year-old Brandon Uhler called the FBI Threat Line and stated he was barricaded in a room with no water and no electricity. Police note Uhler told officials there was a child and woman in there with him as well.

Experts anticipate rise in heat-related sickness amid rising temperatures

Court documents state he told officers there was a bomb in the building, however, officers say a woman can be heard in the background saying there is no bomb in there.

The criminal complaint stated the SWAT Team and the Scranton Police Department Hazardous Device Unit were called in to mitigate any possible device or bomb in the area.

Uhler has been charged with terroristic threats of public inconvenience, criminal use of a communication facility, and several other related charges
