Hosted by Mike Greenberg, Get Up included McNutt as well as NBA analysts Andraya Carter, Jay Williams, and Brian Windhorst.

McNutt appeared remotely as the cast debated Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving ‘s future following the Boston Celtics ‘ series-clinching victory in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

During the segment, McNutt lifted her hand while she was voicing her opinion that Irving will have another chance at winning his second career NBA title.

However, McNutt’s hand movements caused numerous cartoon balloons to float in front of and behind her.

That caused the rest of the cast, who appeared in the New York studios, to react.

“Monica has balloons!” Carter said in astonishment.

Windhorst dropped his face into his hands as a way of attempting to hide his laughter.

“She’s got balloons?” Williams asked his colleagues.

Greenberg chimed in on the fun, saying, “I don’t know what’s going on here. May I try to reclaim control of the conversation?

“Brian Windhorst did not fly all the way back from Boston at 6 this morning to be involved in this insanity.”

A segment later, Greenberg provided clarity to TV viewers as to how the animated balloons went across McNutt’s screen, revealing that her hand gesture triggered effects during her FaceTime video call.

McNutt went on to test a few other FaceTime effects.

She used both hands to create a heart shape which caused a barrage of hearts .

And McNutt gave the peace sign, which triggered confetti effects.

That caused the entire cast to laugh.

After her Get Up appearance, McNutt made her return to First Take .

She was away from the show for two weeks after an awkward back-and-forth with Stephen A. Smith .

McNutt had challenged Smith, claiming that he could’ve talked about the WNBA more in the past.

The 34-year-old still appeared on other ESPN programming and made the return to First Take the day after the NBA conclusion of the NBA Finals.
