Tubi July 2024 movies: 23 can’t-miss titles you can stream for free

In case you missed it, the free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service Tubi is now as big or even bigger than some of the top paid streamers. According to Nielsen’s data (via the Los Angeles Times ), Tubi averaged 1 million viewers this May, which was higher than Disney+, Max, Paramount+, and Peacock. It’s clear rising prices are scaring some users off, and Tubi looks to continue its dominance with another great month of movies in July.

American Psycho

Long before he donned Batman’s cape, Christian Bale made a mark as the investment banker / serial killer Patrick Bateman in American Psycho . The dark horror satire is based on Bret Easton Ellis’s 1991 novel of the same name, in which Bateman attempts to keep up appearances while becoming increasingly depraved and violent. If you have only ever seen the countless memes this movie spawned, now you can finally watch it for real on Tubi.

Friday , a quintessential 1990s buddy comedy starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, had to be on this list. Director F. Gary Gray would go on to direct The Italian Job and The Fate of the Furious , but his directing career kicked off with a hilarious portrayal of two unemployed friends in South Central Los Angeles who end up owing a drug supplier $200 that they don’t have.

The Muppets Take Manhattan

There’s truly never a bad time to watch a Muppets movie, so why not stream The Muppets Take Manhattan in July? The third Muppets movie was the first to be directed solely by Frank Oz, and features cameos from Art Carney, James Coco, Dabney Coleman, Gregory Hines, Linda Lavin, Liza Minnelli, Joan Rivers, and Brooke Shields. It’s also the first time we ever see the Muppet Babies, who would later get their own animated show.

New on Netflix: July 2024

Rain Man

Winner of four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Rain Man features great performances from Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise alike. It follows the young car dealer Charlie Babbitt, who learns that his father left his entire fortune to his other, older son, Raymond. Over time, the two estranged brothers learn to love one another and end up teaming up to cheat Caesars Palace out of $86,000 to pay down Charlie’s debts.

The Terminator

Arnold Schwarzenegger is the Terminator, a cybernetic assassin sent back in time from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor. You know the story, but now you can watch it for free on Tubi, which is not nearly as scary as Skynet (but we’re still a few years from 2029).

Wyatt Earp

Wyatt Earp , a 1994 epic Western about the famed lawman and gambler of the same name, was a box office bomb and a critical failure. But it’s relevant right now because its star, Kevin Costner, is about to premiere the first of (at least!) four self-funded Westerns called Horizon: An American Saga . Will his new movies have the same fate as Wyatt Earp , or is there a greater appetite for a sweeping Western epic now than there was in 1994?
