Rhea GOP announces upcoming schedule of events

RHEA COUNTY — The Rhea County Republican Party recently announced changes to its upcoming schedule of events.

There will be no July meeting as the first Thursday in July is the Fourth of July, party officials said.

“The Republican Party hopes you and your family have a safe and happy Fourth of July,” officials said.

The August monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m., which is the county general election day and the state primaries, at the El Toro Restaurant in Dayton, located at 4285 Rhea County Highway.

“This will be a watch party besides the regular monthly meeting,” officials said.

The September meeting will remain as scheduled at the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department Training Center on Eagle Lane in Evensville at 7 p.m.

“We will be having our second annual BBQ at the Rhea County Courthouse on Sept. 7, starting at 1 p.m. and going until we run out of BBQ,” officials said. “This is free. Many of your county, state and federal office holders will be there.”
