GUERNSEY COUNTY — The Torch Run for Special Olympics will go through Guernsey County on June 26.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ohio is a volunteer movement established by members of the law enforcement community to support the Special Olympics.

The group will assemble at the Stop 9 Church in Byesville at 9:30 a.m. before going to the Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities at 10:45 a.m. They will then meet at the municipal court in Cambridge at 11:30 a.m. to greet Guernsey Eagles and their families before departing at noon to Zanesville.

Each year, officers carry the Flame of Hope along with athletes into the Summer Games Opening Ceremonies at The Ohio State University. The flame symbolizes courage, perseverance, and inclusion.
