In an example of how even wealthy nations cannot deal with climate change, hundreds have died on their pilgrimage to the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca. Local diplomats told Agence France Presse (AFP) that the figure was 550. Such numbers are often understated because of confusion among large crowds and an inability to collect accurate figures. Temperatures in the city reach 125 degrees F, considered above the level humans can survive for long. Climatecrisis247 believes Saudi Arabia is among the world’s wealthiest nations and has a powerful local government. Even though these should be considered advantages to keeping people safe, they have proved useless.

    Combat Global Warming –Using Mirrors

Changes in climate regulations across the shipping industry may have been a mistake. Instead, these regulations may increase global warming. At the beginning of 2020, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) set standards to cut shipping fuel sulfur content to 0.5%, down from 3.5%. CNBC reports that the effects were the opposite. “That’s because the sulfur dioxide, a pollutant which forms when sulfur-containing fuel such as coal or petroleum oil is burned, reacts with water vapor to produce aerosols that reflect sunlight back into space.” Climatecrisis247 believes that this shows the science to cut global warming is often imperfect, and the consequences of these mistakes can make matters worse.

    Small Island Climate Problems

The UN reports that small islands often carry the brunt of climate change, although they do almost nothing to create the problem. The US Human Rights Officer of the High Commissioner reports, “Small Islands bear a climate crisis they did not create and cannot address alone. We must ensure rights-based climate financing and the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (Small Island Developing States ) commitments are delivered and the right to a healthy environment is protected for all.” Climatecrisis247 believes this is similar to problems in underdeveloped nations, particularly in Africa. They suffer climate-related catastrophes like drought and have no capital or tools to improve their situations. Richer governments that have promised money for aid, for the most part, have not provided it.

    Heat In Large Asia Cities

According to a new scientific paper, huge cities have started to affect climate change on land substantially. One Earth published “Urbanization exacerbates continental- to regional-scale warming,” in which the authors wrote, “Here, by combining global land surface temperature observations with historical estimates of urban area, we demonstrate that the urban contribution to continental- to regional-scale warming has become non-negligible, especially for rapidly urbanizing regions and countries in Asia.” They added that a similar pattern will occur in the US and Europe by the end of the century. Climatecrisis247 believes that the situation will not improve. In China, two-thirds of the population lives in cities. In India, the figure is about a third.
