    Hazel Adams Mathews

    Hazel Adams Mathews, a resident of Greenville, passed away peacefully on June 12 at the age of 75.

    Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18 beginning at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Brother Mark Lovett officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until service time.

    Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Cecil and Bessie Lee Adams and sisters, Jean Nobles, Frances Mathews and Mary Ann Teague.

    She is survived by her husband, David Mathews, Sr.; children, David Mathews, Jr. (Vanesa), Adam Mathews (Valerie) and Betsy Peacock (John); grandchildren, Joshua Mathews, Victoria Mathews, Maci Mathews, Trace Mathews, William Peacock and Ethan Peacock; sisters, Faye Adams, Bonnie Mason and Helen Johnson (Ricky); brother, Eddie Adams (Sonya); brothers-in-laws, Donnie Mathews and Harold Teague, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

    The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Southern Care Hospice for all the love and care they have given during this time. Thank you to Christine Brundidge for taking such good care of Hazel during the past few weeks.

    Flowers are accepted or memorials may be given in her loving memory to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Lynn Powell, 661 Friendship Road, Greenville, Alabama 36037.
