SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) – The San Augustine County Sheriff’s Office said that one of their K9s was “at large” after not returning from a bathroom break.

OFFICIALS: 65-year-old man attempts to steal 21 guns from a Lake Cherokee house

Officials said that on Wednesday, K9 Army was let out for a bathroom break before loading up for duty and chased an animal into the woods near his home on Highway 87 near Crockett Lane.

Army is believed to be in that area, and authorities ask that if he is seen, to contact local law enforcement or the sheriff’s office at 936-275-2424 instead of going up to him.

In 2022, a separate K9 with the sheriff’s office reportedly broke out of her kennel and was later found about three miles from her home.
