(WJET/WFXP) – The old saying goes “April showers bring May flowers,” but this year, it seemed that April showers brought May natural disasters.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), natural disasters and severe weather caused over a billion dollars in damages across the United States in the month of May.
