We've all seen our share of videos where moms and dads surprise their children by telling them they're going on a trip to Disney — and they're usually pretty excited about the news. But what happens when the person finding out about an upcoming Disney vacation isn't a kid, but one of the parents?

In a video posted on June 15, a mother is helping her toddler son and daughter open up a mystery gift from her husband. It's a large bag filled with items that all have a common theme — Disney — and after a minute or two, the mom starts getting suspicious.

In the comments, the mom explained that her husband always said he wouldn't spend money on a trip to Disney while their kids were young because they wouldn't remember it , so she was seriously confused at first. Apparently hubs had a change of heart!

Why Do Moms Today Love Disney So Much?

People of all ages have been Disney fans for generations, but as Disney-loving mom Kristin Latchaw wrote for Cincinnati Mom Collective, Millennial moms were born during what's known as the "Disney renaissance."

"Big-hitting movies like The Little Mermaid , Beauty and the Beast , The Lion King , Aladdin , and Toy Story were all released during this time frame. Every child in America had at least heard of, if not seen, a Disney movie. Some of my fondest childhood memories revolved around going to the theater with my parents to see one of these. Or better yet, opening up a brand new VHS on Christmas morning featuring your favorite Disney characters. Movies, books, action figures, Happy Meal Toys, clothing, backpacks, shoes… all items you could buy courtesy of Disney."

When Frozen was released in theaters, lots of these Millennials were moms who were thrilled to have an opportunity to share the Disney experience with their kids. Today, Disney continues to be both a common ground and source of joy for many of these families.

"With everything going on that seems to keep further dividing us as moms, Disney is a unifying escape. It allows us to take a little time from everything going on to enjoy a mental break. Bright colors, catchy songs, and funny G-rated humor are all things that help lighten up the mood."

As one commenter pointed out, the kids in this video might not remember everything from their trip to Disney in the years to come...but mom definitely will!
