Bold and Beautiful fans will soon be reunited with a fan favorite.
Matthew Atkinson is set to return to the CBS soap opera on Friday, June 21. Fans said "see you later" to Matthew's character, Thomas Forrester , at the end of March after he abruptly headed to Paris with his son, Douglas, after calling it quits with his on-and-off-again girlfriend with Hope.
Fans of the show have been awaiting his return for weeks, now that they have seen Hope fantasize with Thomas' sister's husband, Finn. Hope and Thomas called it quits when he proposed to her for the second time.

Matthew told Soap Opera Digest that he did not expect for the fans to have been so invested in Thomas and Hope's storyline. He revealed that fans have reached out asking about his return and how much that meant to him.
He said: "[They] reach out and they’re like, 'Hey, when are you back? When are you back? When are you back?' That just speaks to their care for this character. And that means a lot to me because I would have fun doing this in a vacuum, but it’s really great to have a response that shows that these people care about what you’re doing. And so it’s just been so much love from so many fans that comes out in so many different ways."
A lot has happened since Thomas' short departure and Matthew said that Thomas has had a "large change in his life" that will shock viewers. Matthew said: "And when he comes back, it is something that shocks everyone.”
Fans of the show have been making their guesses on what this shocking" change could be. One person on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: "I hope Thomas brings home a wife and Douglas starts calling her mom. Thomas decides that he doesn’t want to be the lead designer anymore for little house on the prairie for the future and him and Steffy start a fashion line or a fashion house." Another person wrote: "It was mentioned that folks will be shocked. Thinking about it at the very least Thomas will likely come back with a Fiancee. That my prediction. #Thope #boldandbeautiful." A third person wrote: "Watch us think Thomas comes back engaged or something and it turns out to be something else entirely. That's how this show would so do LMAO #boldandbeautiful."
